Steam has released their largest batch to date by a wide margin. 100 titles have been released from the maze known as Steam Greenlight. Games like Salvation Prophecy, Constant C, and Darkout, all of which should have been Greenlit months ago, are now through. This batch certainly helps clean out some of the titles that have plateaued. The real reason, according to the announcement, was to serve as a major stress test for their servers as they improve the Greenlight process. Future batches will be larger but not nearly this magnitude.
This large batch is certainly a great sign for the future of Greenlight. The larger batches will help alleviate the pressure cast upon the indie developers currently stuck. Steam is continually trying to improve the whole process, and larger batches will go a long way towards making Greenlight the publishing process they intended on it being.
