Steel Storm: Burning Retribution Releases Through Steam For Linux Beta

Steel Storm

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, developed by Kot-in-Action, has been released as one of the early adopters of the new Steam for Linux beta that began yesterday. For those of you that already have the game on Steam, then there is no need to worry. This will include the Linux version. If you do not currently the game, it is available on Steam for $4.99.

 About Steel Storm: Burning Retribution:

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution is a top down action shooter with old school spirit. It marks the return of top-down shooters with new twists. The game has score oriented competitive gameplay, and is designed for people who like fast paced action, hordes of smart enemies, destructible worlds and ground shaking explosions.

The events take place in an alternative universe where you control an advanced hovertank, packed with the most advanced and sophisticated weapons. Your task is simple, but nevertheless not trivial. In the fight against extraterrestrial invaders, you must prevail!

When asked why they released a Linux version Alexander Zubov, Founder of Kot-in-Action, had this to say, “Steam on Linux is awesome! I can only say positive things about its arrival. It should now be much easier to reach the extremely fragmented Linux gamers.”

This will provide a centralized platform for Linux gamers in a market where there never really was a consistent source for compatible titles.Steam has confirmed that there will be roughly two dozen games available through this beta. For such a newly launched platform it is great to see the number of developers already supporting it.
